Sam Racine has joined Unisys full-time after earning her Ph.D. in Technical Communication/Human Factors from the University of Minnesota. She has over 15 years of experience in usability, interface design, and computer-mediated communication. Currently, Sam is a Usability Architect for the Transportation Solution Development Center, in Eagan, MN.
Sam assists product teams in the design, implementation, and update of interfaces, particularly for Web-based applications. She works also with design and usability guidelines, research analysis, and Web site evaluation. Specific engagements include e-commerce for the transportation industry, cargo and airport portals, and cargo services.
Sam is a published researcher with a recognized track record in professional journals and periodicals. She is a frequent presenter/speaker at national and regional conferences and has earned several significant awards for research into human factors and e-commerce as well as for design. Sam is a contributing member of the Human Factor/Ergonomics Society and the Society of Technical Communicators.
